About Me
I guess it’s only right that my first blog post be an introduction of who I am, why I’m here, and what I have to offer…
First, the name is Jason Steinhorn. I have no other reason for writing this blog than to perhaps offer a little bit of humor, a little bit of knowledge, and a lot of opinion on a whole range of topics you probably won’t care much about. But, on the off-chance that you actually get something out of this, I hope you’ll take a few moments to browse and offer any comments on my thoughts.
Now, just a tad bit more about me…
I currently live in Cupertino, CA, and work at eBay running a Product Management team focused on the eBay platform, APIs, and integration of some new technologies into the eBay.com offering. Prior to coming to eBay, I spent most of my career in the interactive TV business, first with Hughes Network Systems (a sister company to DirecTV) and then with Microsoft. For more detailed career background, here’s my resume.
In my spare time, I enjoy flying and playing poker. My crowning flying achievement is sheer fact that I haven’t killed myself (or anyone else) yet, and my crowning poker achievement was a second place finish at one of the 2005 World Series of Poker events.
Most importantly, I spend a lot of time with the love of my life, my 2 year old puppy Rookie.
Based on the above, it’s probably safe to assume that much of my blog will be devoted to technology, poker, and my puppy. Not the most synergistic of topics, but it will have to do.
Hope you enjoy!
