Poker Update
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything poker related, and for good reason. Since last summer’s World Series of Poker (WSOP), I’ve been pretty burned out from poker, and haven’t been playing tournaments or cash games. This is probably the least I’ve played in the past 15 years, but after spending a month at the WSOP last July and being completely busy with the new job, the girlfriend, and the puppy, I just haven’t had the time nor the desire to play.
But, with this year’s WSOP starting early (the beginning of June), it’s time to start getting back into practice, and start playing again. The first tournament on the play list for this year will be the Bay 101 Shooting Star $2000 No-Limit Hold’em event coming up March 11. Having not played more than about 15 hours in the past six months, I’m not predicting any major success, but am hoping that at the very least I won’t feel too rusty, and will enjoy playing again.
I haven’t figured out which events I’ll be playing between now the WSOP, nor have I figured out exactly which WSOP events I’ll be playing, but I’ll post more after the Shooting Star event.
Btw, congrats to Jason Heidema, a good buddy and former eBay colleague who spent much of last July with me at the WSOP, and after taking some time off himself, just missed the final table of the 2007 L.A. Poker Classic $1500 Limit Event (he’s listed as “Matthew Heidema” for some reason, and took 11th place).

It was the Shooting Star $2000 No-Limit Hold’em Event at Bay 101, and play started this morning with 250 players. […]
